Viișoara

Viișoara – in the Saxon dialect Heendref, in German Heidendorf, in Hungarian Besenyő. The locality was documented relatively late, in 1332 under the name “villa paganica”. The church, located in the center of the town, was built in Gothic style in the 15th century. After the exodus of the Transylvanian Saxons, the church was bought by the Orthodox community, modified inside according to the requirements of the Orthodox cult and received the patron saint “Saint Hierarch Nicholas”.

Herina

Herina – in Hungarian Harina, in the Saxon dialect Minziref, Minzdref, in German Mönchsdorf, Münzdorf, is a village in Bistrița-Năsăud county. On the hill in the north-east of the town, a Romanesque style church (originally Roman Catholic, of a Benedictine monastery) was built between 1250-1260, a historical and architectural monument, one of the most valuable Romanesque churches in Romania.

The Cornești Plateau

The Cornești Plateau – is located in the eastern part of Târgu Mureș municipality, 488 m above the Black Sea and 197 m above the city, being covered by an oak and hornbeam forest. At the beginning of the last century, the Cornești Plateau was developed, in order to open a sanatorium for pulmonary diseases. The beginning of the First World War, however, put an end to the completion of this project. During communism, the playground, the summer theater, the narrow railway and the zoo were built. A running track and various signposted tourist routes are set up in the forest at Platoul Cornești.
